The "Ugly" Traffic Jam Along Jalan Tambun

The local authorities, MBI or related authorities, should seriously looking at the traffic problems around Ipoh Tambun like Jalan Tambun which have high traffic flow and shown a possible trend similar to the ugly traffic jam in Kuala Lumpur nowadays.

The traffic lights may have been the main problem today compared 5 to 10 years ago. I know that traffic lights make easy turn but traffic volume today increase the chances of bottleneck and it really wastes our precious resources like time and money and even bad for environment. If reduce one traffic light may help to have a better traffic flow then it may be a good suggestion that the local authority should immediately look into it.

At Jalan Tambun, near Sunway City, there are 3 traffic lights in such a short distance if you come near to a hypermarket from Tanjung Rambutan. The local authority should stop one of the traffic lights. Then, in Tambun old town, traffic lights should show a timer like those in Ipoh Greentown in order to alert drivers. Since the area always cause a long unnecessary traffic jam during peak hour, police traffic should be deployed for smoothing the traffic flow.

Private sector may also assist the local authority by increasing the awareness of road users. For example, while putting up a big billboard at strategy location to promote their brands, they can allocate a portion of the billboard advertisement in increasing road user's awareness for better living and good driving attitude. Last but not least, I wish that the first  post of Ipoh Tambun blog may have done a small part injecting new life for all.
